Worcestershire Girls representative squads

Recent news from the girls teams

The U14 and U16 Worcestershire Schools FA sides have begun their seasons in earnest. Both teams have had the opportunity to play in the inaugural Anglo-Welsh Festival thanks to the continued support of Keith Taylor the owner of Coniston Coaches who has sponsored both trips for the county sides.

Our U16s made the trip to Cardiff University on Saturday 12th September to play against Cardiff & The Vale as well as West Glamorgan. A squad of nineteen girls all got plenty of playing time as the girls contested their first games of the season. In our first game against Cardiff & The Vale the girls played out a 1-1 draw this was then followed up by a 2-2 draw with West Glamorgan.

After the opening game of the season against Shropshire on Wednesday 7th October that resulted in a 4-2 loss. The U14s headed to Cardiff University on Saturday 10th October to play against Cardiff & The Vale as well as West Glamorgan. A squad of twenty girls allowed  all to get plenty of playing time. In the opening game against West Glamorgan, Worcestershire secured a 5-1 victory whilst in the second game the score was 1-1 in a tie with Cardiff & The Vale.

Both the U14 and 16s followed up their Anglo-Welsh Festival fixtures with a team meal and bowling to cap off a great weekend that allows they girls to compete against new opposition as well as bond as team.

The U16s are next in action away to Shropshire in the Midland Counties League on Wednesday 21st October whilst the U14s next play at home to Staffordshire in the Midland Counties League on Monday 2nd November.
