Worcestershire Under 16 Boys representative squad

County progress in ESFA national cup
Worcestershire U 16's entertained Caerphilly last night at Littleton FC and deserved their 3-2 victory  over their Welsh visitors.  In an entertaining game the home team went ahead midway through the first half with a goal from Bewdley's Morgan Carpenter. Worcestershire were playing a good passing game but in attempting to play out of defence they lost posession and Caerphilly sneaked an equaliser.  The teams turned around at half time with the scores level and it was the hosts playing attractive football who looked the most likely to score. However a defensive error led to the Welsh team taking the lead with 20 minutes left to go.  This sparked the hosts into pushing forward with even more determination and they were level within three minutes through a well taken penalty from Alphie Bloomer (South Bromsgrove).  This was no more than the Worcestershire boys deserved and five minutes later they took the lead through Joe Southam (Blessed Edward).  Worcestershire could have scored more but they stood firm and now wait to see who they will face in the last 16 of the competition.  The draw for that round takes place on Monday November 17th.
